What is Ultrasonic Metal Welding
Ultrasonic metal joining is a method of transmitting ultrasonic vibrations (transverse vibrations) to metal to destroy and disperse the surface oxide film, exposing a new metal surface, and then joining in a solid state through plastic deformation under pressure. It is characterized by minimal thermal effects.
The ultrasonic metal joining machine consists of the ultrasonic generator that generates electrical energy, the ultrasonic oscillator that converts electrical energy into mechanical vibration, the ultrasonic head that applies pressure to workpieces and gives ultrasonic vibration energy, and the jig (anvil) that holds the workpiece in place.
Nonferrous metals such as copper or aluminum can be joined each other, as well as dissimilar metals such as copper and aluminum.

Major applications of ultrasonic metal joining include joining dissimilar metals such as aluminum wires and copper terminals of aluminum harnesses used in electric vehicles, sealing vaper chambers used in smartphones, and joining aluminum laminated foils of rechargeable batteries.
